Scenario 1: Your alarm goes off, you hit the snooze, it goes off again and you roll out of bed and realize you are already behind schedule.
Scenario 2: Your kids wake you up and you're so tired. You stayed up way too late watching TV or scrolling Pinterest and definitely did not get enough sleep. You roll out of bed, half awake, to get them breakfast.
Scenario 3: You set your alarm for exactly the time you need to get up to have just enough time to get ready for work. You wake up when it goes off and get ready. You have enough time to get ready, but if you hit traffic you'll be late. You give yourself JUST enough time.
Do any of these sound like you? Scenario 2 was me SO many mornings. SO was Scenario 3. We all do it, or have done it so there's no judgement here girl. Here is my question though, did you know that it can be different and more productive? You don't have to have your morning routine go the same way it always has. You have the power and choice to change it.
Here are some tips! 1. Wake up 30-60 minutes earlier than you normally do. You may be saying, "What would I do with that extra time?" Well, you get ahead of the day and get your mind set for the day. You spend time with yourself. You fill out the journaling sheet from this site, "Take Charge of Your Day". This will help you get into a mindset of gratitude, serving others, and productivity. Journaling will help you connect to your thoughts.
2. Get nutrition into your body within 30 minutes of waking up! I have my go-to's and I encourage you to find something that is balanced nutrition (protein and carb balanced) that you can eat/drink first thing in the morning. This will get your blood sugars above your baseline and put some "gas in your tank" so that you are starting your day with energy! (My advice would be to eat throughout the entire day every 2-3 hours!... reach out for suggestions!) 3. Drink 16 oz of water first thing in the morning! Your body NEEDS and LOVES water! I suggest drinking a minimum of 64 oz throughout the day and if you can get closer to 100oz, even better! This will help re-hydrate you, flush toxins, boost your metabolism, and help you feel fuller longer! So which one are you going to start doing? 1, 2 or all 3?? Do these things consistently and watch how your mood, and day changes!
